Anderson commits to Alabama-Huntsville

Township of Langley, BC (Friday, May 29, 2015) – The Langley Rivermen are pleased to announce forward Hunter Anderson has earned an NCAA Division I scholarship to the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

The 21 year old from Savage, Minnesota played his first season in the BCHL last year, scoring 30 points (11g, 19a) in 58 games with the Rivermen. Anderson had a stellar post-season as he led the team with four goals in six games.

“Hunter’s work ethic is second-to-none and the energy he brings night in and night out is tough to find in hockey players,” said Head Coach and General Manager Bobby Henderson. “He’s a great two-way player and knows how to be leader on and off the ice.”

“Playing in the BCHL was one of the best decisions I’ve made,” said Anderson. “The coaching staff and teammates helped me become a better player. I’m looking forward to starting a new adventure with UAH.”

University of Alabama in Huntsville has produced professional hockey players including Cameron Talbot, Jared Ross and Scott Munroe.

The Rivermen would like to congratulate Anderson on this major accomplishment and wish him best of luck at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
