Rivermen Announce Trio of Signings

With training camp just weeks away, the Langley Rivermen would like to announce the following commitments for 2011/12 season:

Matt Esposito, 19 years old (born 1992)– Matt comes to the Rivermen from Fayetteville, New York after migrating North from Tampa Bay, Florida originally.  Esposito, highly touted for his offensive game, could prove to be one of the hockey clubs biggest recruits of 2011. Last season,  Matt Finished with  the South Shore Kings of the EJHL (Eastern Junior hockey league) where he netted 6 goals and 6 assists in 13 games; prior to that he had 2 helpers in a brief stint (3 games) with the Lincoln Stars of the USHL (United States Hockey league). In 2009 Matt played in the EJHL with the Green Mountain Glades where he had 33 points in the team’s first 30 games before being traded to Chicago in the USHL.  Both Esposito and the Rivermen hope that he continues putting up points en route to a successful first year in the BCHL.

Tyler Hanzlik, 19 years old (born 1992)– Hanzlik hails from Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin and was a teammate of fellow Rivermen recruit, Justin Parizek.  Tyler is a smooth skating power forward who potted 27 points with the U18 team at Russell Stover last year and is sure to have the attention of NCAA scouts with his combination of size and skill.

Thomas Nitsche, 19 years old  (born 1992) – Thomas is originally from Kitchener, Ontario but moved to Charlotte, North Carolina at the age of 5.  Thomas adds to the Rivermen’s already big defence standing at 6'2 and weighing 210lbs. Thomas has good puck skills, good vision and is a great skater for a player his size. He will add a physical presence as he rarely misses an opportunity to finish a check. Thomas took an interesting route to land with the Rivermen; he played two years of Junior B in North Carolina before being recruited last season to play U18 for the Dallas Ice Jets.

Don't miss the newest additions to the club this season as the games begins at home on September 24th at the Langley Events Centre.  Call now for your season tickets at 604-882-8800
