Zieky commits to Providence

Township of Langley, BC (Friday, August 21, 2015) – The Langley Rivermen are pleased to announce that forward Chase Zieky (1996 born) has committed to play for Providence College of the NCAA for the 2016-17 season. Zieky came to the Rivermen this off season from the prestigious Avon Old Farms Academy in Connecticut and will be entering his rookie season in the BCHL this year,

“Chase is a highly skilled winger who will add some scoring punch this season for us,” Head Coach and General Manager Bobby Henderson noted.

Last season was Chase’s third season with Avon Old Farms Zieky and he put up 27 goals while adding 18 assists for 45 points in 26 games. He also has some Stanley Cup lineage as his uncle is Chicago Blackhawks Head Coach Joel Quenneville. He becomes the ninth player on this year’s Rivermen roster to be committed to an NCAA Division 1 school.

The Rivermen kick off training camp on Monday, August 24 at the Langley Events Centre. The team will play three exhibition games at the LEC before hosting the Prince George Spruce Kings in their home opener on Saturday, September 19, game time is 6:00pm that night.
