Annual Food Drive & Teddy Bear Toss

The Langley Rivermen are planning to head off into Christmas in style with back to back games on December 16 and 17.  The two games mark two of the more popular events in the hockey season calendar, both of which are in support of great causes.

Friday, December 16 (agains the Powell River Kings) will mark the first annual Langley Rivermen Food Drive to help generate some non-perishable food items for the less fortunate.  The Rivermen are asking fans to bring food to the game that night and help generate some more support for the Langley Food Bank.  With the weather deteriorating and getting colder by the day, more and more people are in need of proper nutrition – here is your chance to give back!

Saturday, December 17 (against the Prince George Spruce Kings), the Rivermen will hold their first annual Teddy Bear Toss.  The Teddy Bear Toss has long been an annual tradition in hockey, one which Langley hockey fans have supported thoroughly.  Fans are asked to bring toys (preferably soft) and stuffed animals to the game – when the Rivermen score their first goal, fans throw the toys and stuffed animals on the ice!  The benefactors of the toys will be the guests at Langley Memorial Hospital – where the toys will be donated to sick children who are suffering over the holidays.

For more information, please call the Langley Rivermen office at 604-455-8832.  Come prepared on the 16 and 17 with food and toys.
