With all 30 NHL teams having started their summer development camps, a look through the invitees reveals a lot of BCHL-bred talent.
A total of 54 league alums have been or are being put through their paces right now as they try to stick on a team’s radar for the future. Most of the players head into camp after seasons in the NCAA but a few, as indicated below, played in the BCHL last season. In all, 448 NCAA players are attending summer camps. (SEE FULL LIST)
The majority of players are attending one camp each. A pair of players, Sheldon Rempal and Thomas Aldworth, are attending two different camps. Rempal, who scored 59 goals last season with the Nanaimo Clippers, will be in camp with Anaheim and Calgary. Thomas Aldworth, a Vernon Vipers alum going into his sophomore season at Quinnipiac, will skate for Washington and Calgary.
Each of the three BCHL players drafted in the first round of June’s NHL Entry Draft – Tyson Jost with Colorado, Dante Fabbro with Nashville and Dennis Cholowski with Detroit – are in or have completed their showings for their new clubs as well.
