The Langley Rivermen are back at home this weekend for a pair of games against the Penticton Vees and Prince George Spruce Kings.
The Rivermen got a split this past weekend, defeating the Nanaimo Clippers at home on Friday 5-3, and dropping a 7-2 decision on Sunday at the South Surrey Arena to the Eagles.
Penticton will roll into the George Preston Arena on Thursday for their first meeting with Langley since March 1st of last season, and lone meeting of the 2024-25 BCHL season. The Vees come into Thursday’s contest winners in 5 of their previous 6 games, and having defeated the Vernon Vipers at the South Okanagan Events Centre on Saturday 6-4.
PENTICTON PLAYER TO WATCH
#61 Anselmo Rego – the Brampton, Ontario product has goals in four of his last 6 games, and is two points away from 21 on the season. The Lindenwood University commit hit 21 points all of last season in 38 games, but has a chance to match a career high this weekend in 15 less games played.
Saturday is the third time this season that Prince George has rolled into the George Preston Arena, with the Rivermen taking both meetings thus far 4-0 on September 22nd, and 6-3 on November 15th.
The Spruce Kings have lost their prior four games, including their lone game of the weekend on Saturday at home against the Spruce Grove Saints, a 5-2 decision going the visitor’s way.

#87 Ilya Rogovsky – The 2004 born Russian forward has been exceptional the past three games, collecting three goals and two assists in that time frame, and is playing his best hockey since joining the Rivermen in late October.
Thursday’s game against Penticton is Throwback Thursday, with all tickets costing $5. Saturday against Prince George is the Rivermen’s annual Hockey Fights Cancer night.
