Rivermen Head to Interior for Three Game Road Trip

With only six games remaining on the regular season schedule, the Langley Rivermen are hitting the road for three crucial games against Interior Division opponents this weekend. The trip includes stops in Trail, Penticton, and Vernon on three consecutive nights. The road swing comes on the heels of a weekend that saw the Riv earn a point in two games.

With the regular season coming to a close in the next two weekends, Langley (25-24-2-1) can still catch the Coquitlam Express (25-23-3-3) for third place in the division as they sit only three points back of them. On Friday the Riv will see the first opponent of the trip, the Trail Smoke Eaters (21-23-7-3), who sit in last place in the Interior Division. The Rivermen won the first two games of the season series against Trail this year. The following night, they will pay a visit to the first place Penticton Vees (34-14-3-2). Langley took the first game of the season series, which was on opening night, by a score of 5-2. The road swing ends with a stop in Vernon to face the fifth place Vipers (23-20-7-3). Vernon won 5-1 the last time these two teams met.

The boys in blue will return home on February 22nd to host the Merritt Centennials and the Surrey Eagles on the 23rd for Fan Appreciation Night. The schedule ends with a road game in Surrey the following night, one last tune-up before the first round of the playoffs begin.

Tickets for home games can be purchased at the George Preston Recreation Centre “The Lodge” box office 45 minutes before puck drop and by calling 604-229-2352 or emailing tickets@langleyrivermen.com.
