Rivermen Ready to Host Wenatchee, Victoria After Victory Over Chilliwack, Loss to Salmon Arm

The Langley Rivermen will host the Wenatchee Wild on Saturday and the Victoria Grizzlies on Sunday for the final home games of the regular season. This past weekend, the Riv took down the Chilliwack Chiefs before falling 3-0 to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks on Tuesday night.

After strong battles with the Chiefs all season long, this matchup was no different on Sunday afternoon at the Lodge. Kalen Szeto opened the scoring in the second for the home team and Tanner Versluis extended the lead early in the third with a tally of his own. Not long after, Chilliwack responded with two of their own to tie the game late. With less than five minutes to go in the final frame, Matteo Pecchia put the Rivermen on top to secure the 3-2 win. In his first home start since joining Langley, Jonathan Mor recorded 30 saves for the victory. With an assist on the Szeto goal, Brendan Budy became the All-Time Leading Scorer for the Rivermen. On the same afternoon, Jake Livingstone took over the mantle of All-Time Leader in Games Played for the team.

Saturday night’s game time is 7:15 pm vs. Wenatchee and Sunday afternoon the Grizzlies come to town with a 2:30 pm start time, both games are at George Preston Arena.
