Rivermen Take On the Coquitlam Express in the First Round of the Shaw BCHL Playoffs

The Langley Rivermen open their hunt for the Fred Page Cup tonight in Coquitlam as they take on the Express in the opening round of the 2020 Shaw BCHL Playoffs. Finishing up the regular season this past weekend, the Riv defeated the Surrey Eagles prior to dropping the final game to the Chilliwack Chiefs.

The Express (47-9-1-1-0) will prove to be a tough test for the Riv, as they finished first in the Mainland Division and the BCHL with 96 points. Langley (23-31-2-1-1) ended the season in fourth in the Mainland Division with 50 points. Head-to-head, the Express took the season series 6-2. Brendan Budy and Jake Livingstone tied for the team lead in points with 49 for the Riv. Livingstone was named to the BCHL 2nd-Team All-Stars along with being a finalist for the Top Defenseman Award. Coquitlam rookie Greg Lapointe led his team with 60 points in the regular season.
