Road Trip Ends with Victory over Salmon Arm, Loss to Wenatchee

Langley took a trip back east to Salmon Arm before heading south of the border to Wenatchee to finish off the November road swing. They were successful in pulling out a win against the Silverbacks before dropping a close one to the Wild.

In Salmon Arm, the boys in blue opened the scoring in the second with a goal from Matthew Hubbarde. Scoring stalled until late in the third where the game broke open. Goals from Devin Leduc and Joseph Musa added to the lead within the final ten minutes, but the Silverbacks notched two of their own shortly after. Brendan Budy sealed the deal with a few seconds left in the game for the 4-2 win. Braedon Fleming stopped 25 of 27 shots on the night.

Finishing the trip off in Washington, scoring went back and forth for the first two periods with Rivermen goals from Tristan Fraser and Kaeden Patrick. Wenatchee broke the tie in the third and held on for a 3-2 Riv loss. Kristian Lyon made 26 saves on 29 shots in the game.

Langley now returns to the Lodge, where they will host six of their seven games in December. Tuesday night will kick off this stretch, as the Riv host the Merritt Centennials at George Preston Arena. They will then welcome the Trail Smoke Eaters on Saturday.

This Saturday night will be the annual Teddy Bear Toss game. Bring your bears to chuck on the ice after the first Rivermen goal for a good cause. Game time is 7:15 pm on both nights.

Tickets for home games can be purchased online at HappsNow.com, at the George Preston Recreation Centre “The Lodge” box office 45 minutes before puck drop, and by calling 604-229-2352 or emailing tickets@langleyrivermen.com.
