SCHNEIDER COMMITS TO CLARKSON UNIVERSITY

Township of Langley, BC (Friday, May 15, 2015) – The Langley Rivermen are pleased to announce defenseman Jordan Schneider has earned an NCAA Division I scholarship to Clarkson University.

The 20 year old from Toronto, ON played his first season in the BCHL last year, scoring 26 points (5g, 21a) in 52 games with the Rivermen. Schneider will join teammate Colton Kehler who announced his commitment to Clarkson last November.

“Jordan is an excellent defenseman who is very smart at both ends of the ice,” said Head Coach and General Manager Bobby Henderson. “He’s going to a school that’s well respected and we couldn’t be happier for him.”

“I can’t thank the coaching staff and my teammates enough, they really helped me grow last season,” said Schneider. “I’m excited to continue my hockey career.”

Prior to coming to the west coast, Schneider spent three seasons with the St. Michael’s Buzzers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Clarkson University, a private research university in Potsdam, New York enrols over 37-hundred students. The team plays in the ECAC Hockey conference. Notable names to graduate from Clarkson include former NHL players and Stanley Cup champions Willie Mitchell, Erik Cole and Todd Marchant.

The Rivermen would like to congratulate Schneider on this major accomplishment and wish him best of luck at Clarkson University.
