The Langley Rivermen return home this weekend for the start of a 3 game homestand, and the initial stretch of 5 home games in the month of November at the George Preston Arena.
Friday is a rematch from Langley’s home opener on September 22nd, as the Prince George Spruce Kings roll into the GPA.
The two teams have not met since that game at the end of September, a 4-0 Langley win thanks to two goals from Carsten Kayter and a 15 save shutout from Bodee Weiss in the Rivermen goal.
Prince George are coming off a four game home stand where they went 2-1-1-0, with the home stand ending on Saturday night against the Cowichan Valley Capitals with the visitors taking an 8-4 decision.
Langley traveled to Nanaimo on Friday and Alberni Valley on Saturday night, picking up a point against the Clippers on Friday in a 2-1 overtime loss, and an empty netter that doubled the Bulldogs lead on Saturday ensuring the hosts would walk away with a 3-1 win.
PRINCE GEORGE PLAYER TO WATCH
#9 Ethan Montroy – the Ottawa, Ontario native started the year with the Cornwall Colts in the CCHL, however joined the Spruce Kings in early October and has been excellent since. The 2005 born forward has points in 12 of the 13 games he has played for Prince George, picking up goals in 8 of those 13 games, a threat the Rivermen defensive corps will certainly need to keep an eye on.
This Saturday is a rematch of the game 7 days prior, where the Alberni Valley Bulldogs prevailed on Vancouver Island 3-1.
With the Bulldogs winning both meetings between the two teams early on in this season, look for Langley to be motivated on Saturday night at the Lodge in front of their home fans.
ALBERNI VALLEY PLAYER TO WATCH
#16 Jesse Allecia – The skilled right winger from New York, New York scored a highlight reel goal on Saturday against the Rivermen, and has found the net in three of his last 5 games. The 2005 New Hampshire NCAA commit will look to continue his strong play against the Rivermen this weekend.
LANGLEY PLAYER TO WATCH
#22 Sebastian Bradshaw – the newly acquired forward from Newtonville, Ontario has one assist in his first three games as a Rivermen, but has created multiple scoring opportunities and his physical play has stood out. The Dallas Stars draft pick will be hunting for his first goal in Langley colours this weekend against Prince George and Alberni Valley.
