Weekend Preview: Division Home and Home Vs. Eagles

Huge Division matchup for the Rivermen this weekend as they take on the Surrey Eagles in a back to back home and home series.

Both teams have not seen eachoer since the Rivermen’s first game of the year, a game which saw them jump out to a 4 goal lead before allowing a big comeback push by the Eagles to win it in overtime on the PP 5-4.

The Eagles currently sit second in the Mainland Division by only 4 points to the Rivermen. A lead that the Rivermen know could be closed, or increased after this weekend. Extending the lead for the Rivermen could really help set up their next few games. The Riv will face 10 division opponents in their next 13 games. 10 games they know will help determine their outcome in the Division and where they will stand moving forward.

The Eagles under new coach Brandon West have really turned things around this year and have 2 players in the top 6 in league scoring (Westgard and Wesley) who join Brendan Budy in 8th. The Eagles PK currently sits in 12th in the league but are a different team on home ice where they sit 6th in PK and will be a test for the Rivermens PP.

On the other hand, the Rivermens PK which has been hot lately sits at 3rd in the league and will look to keep it that way against the Eagles 15th ranked PP.

Game two goes Saturday November 25 7pm @ The Lodge . Tickets still available at the Box Office, doors open at 6pm.
