As the final preparations take place and the ice builds in George Preston Recreation Centre, the Langley Rivermen are pleased to announce the 2018 Preseason Schedule. The Rivermen will kick off preseason with a two-day Main Camp at George Preston Aug 20-21.
The exhibition schedule looks to replicate the mid season grind, as the team will play in games over four consecutive nights followed by back to back games to end the preseason.
The Rivermen’s first exhibition game will see the “Riv” cross-river to Coquitlam to take on the Express Wednesday, August 22nd. The Rivermen will then host two home games. First up, are the Surrey Eagles Thursday, August 23rd followed by the Coquitlam Express on Friday, August 24th.
Saturday August 25th the “Riv” are back on the road, as they will make the short trip to Surrey to play the Eagles. This will give coaching staff an opportunity to see how the new recruits handle the Olympic ice.
The Rivermen will close out preseason with two games against another division rival, the Chilliwack Chiefs. Langley hockey fans are in for a treat as the Rivermen’s 5:00pm game August 31 at George Preston will be followed by Jr. B preseason action. The Langley Trappers will faceoff off against the PJHL’s newest expansion team, the White Rock Whalers at 8:00pm.
Fans are welcome to attend Main camp scrimmages free of cost. Admission for exhibition games are by donation.
