Langley, BC – August 2, 2023 – The Langley Rivermen today announced the signing of defensive dynamo, Morgan Brady, to their roster for the forthcoming season. The highly-touted skater is committed to Arizona State University (ASU) and was previously ranked #135 by NHL Central Scouting for North American skaters, underscoring his formidable abilities on the ice.

Brady is renowned for his strong defensive play and exceptional skating form. His recent performance with the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL)’s Spruce Grove Saints during the 2022-23 season was notable. He successfully scored 6 goals and made 20 assists, accumulating 26 points in 44 games. He carried this impressive momentum into the playoffs, where he notched 1 goal and 3 assists across 14 games.

“Morgan Brady is a powerhouse player, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to the Rivermen,” shared Burt Henderson, Head Coach of the Langley Rivermen. “His ability to drive the play in both ends of the rink are sure to be invaluable assets to our team as we navigate the upcoming season.”

Standing tall at 6’3″, Brady’s physical presence is matched by his aggressive play style. Known for his open-ice hits and thunderous one-timers, Morgan plays the game extremely hard.

“Morgan is a game-changer,” said Tyler Kuntz, Associate Head Coach of the Rivermen. “He’s extremely hard to play against. He will keep opponents honest with his physicality but he also possesses the ability to drive the play offensively. He has outstanding character and leadership qualities and will be counted on in all facets of the game. This is a great addition for the program and will really solidify our defense corps for the upcoming season”.

Curt Fraser, Director of Hockey Operations, echoed these sentiments. “Morgan Brady embodies everything a Langley Rivermen player should be. He brings not only stellar stats, but also a spirit of resilience and leadership that are core to our team ethos.”

Brady also brings international experience, having represented Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge last season. His commanding presence on the ice, alongside his proven defensive capabilities, make him a robust addition to the Rivermen roster.
