Langley Rivermen Anticipates Exciting Season with BCHL’s Reinforced Officiating Program

Notable NHL Names Join BCHL Officiating Roster to Develop Next Generation Officials

Langley, BC – August 11, 2023 – The Langley Rivermen welcomes the BC Hockey League’s (BCHL) announcement of its comprehensive officiating staff for the 2023-24 season. Comprising five officiating managers, 26 referees, and 24 linespeople, the lineup promises to deliver an impeccable standard of game management.

The chosen staff is set to complement the four officiating development coaches and mentors announced earlier. Selected from over 90 eager applicants, this experienced crew exemplifies the growing demand and esteem of officiating roles within the BCHL.

The selection was spearheaded by BCHL Vice President of Hockey Operations Brad Lazarowich, a league veteran since 2012, and an NHL official for three decades prior. “We are proud to announce our staff of officials today for the upcoming season,” stated Lazarowich. “The number of applicants was overwhelming, indicative of an unprecedented desire to officiate in our league. We anticipate a thrilling season kick-off in September with this group of officials. Together with our development coaches and mentors, we aim to aid them in achieving their highest potential.”

The announced Officiating Managers are Lorne Craig, Jeff Eden, Mike Page, Carl Poole, and Devon Sephton. The robust line-up of 26 Referees and 24 Linespeople includes a wide range of seasoned officials with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
