Riv Finish Road Heavy Schedule in Salmon Arm

Salmon Arm, BC – The Langley Rivermen play their sixth road game in their last seven tonight with a chance to make it seven wins in their last eight as they pay a visit to the Silverbacks in Salmon Arm.

The 20-10-1-2 Rivermen are coming off a 3-2 win in Trail Friday night and remain atop the BCHL's Mainland division with a three point lead over Prince George while the 15-10-1-4 Silverbacks currently sit tied with Merritt for third in the tight Interior.  Both teams are coming off a pair of wins while their other stat lines also look remarkably similar.  Both teams have scored 105 goals on the season while the Rivermen have allowed two fewer against although the Silverbacks do have two games in hand.

Tonight marks the return of Zach Urban to Salmon Arm where he started the season before being traded to the Rivermen.  It's the only visit of the regular season to Salmon Arm for Langley who came away with the 3-2 overtime win over the Silverbacks just two weeks ago at the LEC.

Austin Azurdia made his return to the Rivermen lineup Friday night in Trail after suffering an injury against the Silverbacks.  The Rivermen are still without forward James Robinson but the team's scoring by committee system continues.  No Rivermen forward is hotter than Jakob Reichert right now with points in seven of his last eight games including a second period goal against the Smoke Eaters.

Tonight is the final road game for the Rivermen before the Christmas break as Langley aims to make it five wins away from home in their last six.

Puck drop tonight at the Shaw Centre is 7:00pm.
