Rivermen acquire Nagra from the Menace

The Langley Rivermen have acquired defenseman Deven Nagra (03) from the Milton Menace of the Ontario Junior Hockey League in exchange for future considerations.

The product of Vaughan, Ontario played the last two seasons with the Milton Menace of the OJHL. Last season was canceled due to COVID so Nagra was unable to suit up in any game action but the 2019-20 season saw him score three goals and add 14 assists in 54 games with the Menace.

“I am super excited to join a great organization like the Rivermen in the best league in Canada and I am looking forward to getting to meet everyone including my teammates and the staff. I am also looking forward to making this a great year for the team and the Rivermen fans,” Nagra said when he was asked about his reaction to the trade.

The newest Rivermen blueliner described himself as a two-way defenseman that takes pride in both the offensive and defensive zone. “I find one of my best attributes which is my hockey sense of finding my teammates and understanding where to be and how to get open for my teammates,” said Nagra.

Nagra will join his new teammates when camp opens up on September 17th and the Rivermen will play their first preseason game on September 21st against the Coquitlam Express.
