Rivermen Aquire Will Cook from Express

The Langley Rivermen Junior “A” hockey club have acquired Will Cook from the Coquitlam Express in exchange for future considerations. The 6’1 forward will bring some more size to the lineup this season as the Rivermen continue to bolster their team just before the season starts this coming weekend.

It’s another solid addition to the team that Associate Head Coach Jon Calvano sees as a perfect fit,

“He has good size which he uses well in protecting the puck and an accurate shot,” Calvano said,

“We are also looking for him to add some scoring to our depth and contribute in a physical way also.”

Cook has a year of BCHL experience having played in 46 games with the Express in 2012-13, where he collected 8 goals and 9 assists during the regular season. The Port Stanley, Ontario native joins an already impressive lineup as the Rivermen were ranked 15th in the country by the CJHL pre-season rankings early this week. The Rivermen were the third highest ranked team among BCHL teams as they look ready to go deep in the playoffs this year.

The puck drops on the Rivermen season this Friday September 6th at the BCHL Showcase weekend as they take on the Trail Smoke Eaters at Prospera Arena, in Chilliwack. The Rivermen will return to the Langley Events Centre on September 20th for their home opener against the Coquitlam Express.
