Rivermen End Regular Season on High Note

After dropping back to back games against the Wenatchee Wild on Thursday and Friday night at the GPRC the Langley Rivermen were able to finish the regular season on a high note as they defeated the Prince George Spruce Kings 7-0 on Saturday.

In the final 2 meetings of the season, Langley outscored PG 11-0 and set a tone for the post season which starts Friday against the Chilliwack Chiefs.

Ryan Barrow finished in the top spot on the hockey club with 28 goals and 40 assists for 68 points and Cam Ginnetti was the top defenseman with 9 goals 47 assists good for 56 points.  It was also a great weekend for Max Kaufman as the Rivermen veteran forward notched 5 goals and added an assist in the final week of the season as he finished 3rd in scoring with 55 points and is now 2nd all time in Langley Rivermen history in regular season points at 105.

The Rivermen finished 3rd in the Mainland Division Standings with a record of 30-20-6-2 for a total of 68 points.

The playoffs will begin this week versus the Chiefs and below is the schedule so mark these dates down:

Game 1 – March 3rd, 7PM @ Prospera Centre
Game 2 – March 4th, 7PM @ Prospera Centre

Game 3 – March 6th, 7:15PM @ George Preston Rec Centre
Game 4 – March 7th, 7:15PM @ George Preston Rec Centre

Game 5 – March 10th, 7PM @ Prospera Centre (if necessary)
Game 6 – March 11th, 6PM @ George Preston Rec Centre (if necessary)
Game 7 – March 12th, 5PM @ Prospera Centre (if necessary)
