Rivermen gameday preview

THE RUNDOWN:

For the first time in their history, the Rivermen will play in Prince George and it definitely will not be the last. The game tonight will be the first of four at the PG Coliseum in a span of 18 days. It is a grueling trip up here as it took nearly 10 hours (with a pit stop in 100 Mile House) on the bus, which makes a travel day mandatory as the old ‘spaghetti legs’ are in full effect.

These two teams have played five games already this year, but the last meeting was way back on November 2nd. The Rivermen lead the season series at 3-2 and all games except one have been one goal contests. In fact, the ‘Men have gotten eight out of a possible 10 points off the ‘Kings and have yet to lose in regulation.

The Rivermen will look to get back in the win column for the first time in three games. They already have one game under their belt this week which was a Monday game in Surrey that resulted in a 4-1 loss. The Spruce Kings on the other hand are fresh off a 3-1 win in Chilliwack on Saturday and are 2-2-0-1 in their last five.
