Adding SJHL Experience: Carsten Kayter Joins Rivermen’s Defensive Core
Langley, BC – June 30, 2023 – The Langley Rivermen are excited to announce the signing of 16-year-old defenseman Carsten Kayter. Born in Warman, Saskatchewan, Kayter has shown tremendous potential during his tenure with the Humboldt Broncos in the SJHL and stands poised to bring his defensive prowess to the Rivermen.
Head Coach Burt Henderson shared his thoughts on the new addition: “Carsten’s time with the Humboldt Broncos has showcased his potential as a formidable defenseman. Despite his young age, he has shown remarkable skills that we believe will greatly enrich our defensive lineup.”
The signing of Carsten Kayter further emphasizes the Rivermen’s commitment to bringing in promising talent to enhance their roster, setting the stage for an electrifying season ahead.
Associate Head Coach Tyler Kuntz stated, “Carsten’s been well coached and his skillset combined with his enthusiasm to develop as an elite defenseman indicate a bright future. He’s committed to a great program at the University of Nebraska-Omaha whom I’m very familiar with. We’re thrilled to be a part of his journey and to have his talents contribute to our defence group.”
Director of Hockey Operations, Curt Fraser, remarked, “With the addition of Carsten, we continue our strategy of building a dynamic and versatile team. His skills and experience at such a young age are invaluable to our defensive lineup.”
