The Langley Rivermen are excited to announce the acquisition of 2003 born forward Logan Morrell from the Coquitlam Express, in exchange for future considerations. The 6’3” and 194 pound Morrell played in 24 games with Coquitlam to start the season, scoring 5 goals and adding 4 assists.
Logan was born in Mesa, Arizona and played his hockey with the Phoenix Junior Coyotes until his U16 AAA year, getting into four games with the St. Cloud Blizzard of the NAHL in 2019-20 acquiring one goal as an affiliate.
In the 2020-2021 season, he played in the NCDC with the Islanders Hockey club, registering 7 assists in 8 games played.
He made the jump to the USHL in the 2021-22 season with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, playing in 35 games, scoring 3 goals and adding 5 assists.
In 2022-23, he played in a further 6 games with the RoughRiders scoring a goal and adding an assist before being acquired by the Omaha Lancers, also in the USHL. In 24 games played with the Lancers, Morrell scored 4 goals and chipped in an assist before signing with Coquitlam in the off-season.
Logan is expected to make his Rivermen debut on Friday, January 5th in South Surrey as Langley takes on Surrey for the sixth time this season. Fans can see him in his first home game as the Rivermen welcome interior conference Cranbrook Bucks to the Lodge for their first and only meeting this season.
