Rivermen Add Veteran Presence to Blueline

Township of Langley, BC, Monday, November 26, 2012: The Langley Rivermen Junior “A” Hockey Club has announced a trade with the Pembroke Lumber Kings of the CCHL. The Rivermen acquire Defenseman Ryan Fraser-Lee (1993 born) for future considerations.

Fraser- Lee played in seven games for the Lumber Kings this season recording two assists and 10 penalty minutes. The previous year he played for the Chicago Steel of the USHL and picked up five assists in 40 games to go along with 83 penalty minutes. Fraser Lee is on the taller side at 6’3”, 205 pounds and shoots right.

“Ryan is a big, steady, physical defenseman that will bring experience to our line-up,” said Rivermen Associate Head Coach Jordan Emmerson, “he is a defensive minded player and takes care of his own end first and foremost and that will only help us.”

In 2011 he was drafted by the Chicago Steel in the fourth round in the USHL draft. A year later he was then drafted into the NAHL in 2012 by the Janesville Jets in the third round.

“He is a guy that can play in any situation for us. He will be a big asset not only out on the ice, but in the dressing room as well and we believe he will be a calming influence for our younger players,” finished Emmerson.

The Rivermen’s next home game is on Tuesday November 27th against the Surrey Eagles.  The promotion is “Movember to Remember” as proceeds will be raised to help support prostate cancer. For tickets and information call 604-455-8832.
