RIVERMEN ANNOUNCE 2 MORE COMMITMENTS FOR NEXT SEASON

Township of Langley, BC (Wednesday, January 28, 2015) – The Langley Rivermen are pleased to announce the commitments of Dominic Franco (96) and Max Kaufman (96) to the Rivermen for the 2015-16 season.

“We’re excited to have two more great young players suit up in a Rivermen jersey,” said Head Coach and General Manager Bobby Henderson.

Franco, born in Scituate, Rhode Island, is currently attending Kimball Union Academy, a private boarding school in New Hampshire.

“Dominic has a tremendous upside,” said Henderson. “He has the frame of an NHL power forward with a nice combination of speed and skill who works hard in all three zones.”

The 6’3” 210 pound forward is described as an all-around, well-balanced player. Franco is committed to Army (NCAA Division I) in 2016-17.

“It’s a great opportunity for me to get better before I head off to college,” said Franco. “I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Rivermen coaching staff and the program, so it seemed like the right fit.”

Kaufman is also committed to an NCAA Division I school, as he’ll be off to the University of Vermont in 2016-17 where he’ll play alongside current Rivermen Jacob Kearley, who recently announced his commitment with the Catamounts.

“I’m really excited,” said Kaufman. “Langley seems like a great place and a great fit for me. I had a good connection with Coach Henderson. The BCHL sounds like a great league and a great place to develop as a player and also a person.”

Kaufman, from Pittsford, New York, is enrolled at Kent School in Connecticut. In 25 games this season, the forward has 34 points (15g, 19a) with the Kent varsity hockey team.

“Max is a crafty, highly skilled player,” said Henderson. “He puts himself in good scoring position, he’s hard on pucks and does a lot of the small things to win.”

Current BCHL players to attend Kent School include Lewis Zerter-Gossage (Penticton) and Anthony Rinaldi (Nanaimo).
