The Langley Rivermen play a home and home this weekend against the Surrey Eagles, beginning Friday at the South Surrey Arena, and Sunday back at the George Preston Arena.
Langley are coming off a pair of difficult games at home, dropping an 8-3 decision on Saturday against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs, and Sunday a 7-4 defeat to the Cowichan Capitals with the visitors scoring a pair of empty netters to secure victory.
Surrey only had one game on the weekend, which was in Chilliwack on Monday for a family day game.
This will be the 6th and 7th meetings of the season between the two team’s with Surrey leading the season series 4-1-0-0.
SURREY PLAYER TO WATCH
#13 Miles Burgin – the second year Eagle has been having a breakout season with a bigger role on his Surrey squad. He had a 12 game point streak snapped in early February, but has already smashed his point total from last year with 31 in 36 games, coming into his team’s matchup Monday with Chilliwack. He had 9 points in 42 games played last year on route to helping his team secure the Fred Page Cup.
LANGLEY PLAYER TO WATCH
#18 Jackson Krill – the 5th year BCHL veteran had a brilliant weekend, scoring three goals in the two games against Alberni Valley and Cowichan Capitals and has four goals in his last 6 games. The Port Moody, BC product has been lights out since the Christmas break and will look to continue his great play this weekend as Friday will be his 200th BCHL regular season game.
