Rivermen Gain a Competitive Edge with Addition of Skilled Goaltender, Liam Hallett.
Langley, BC – June 30, 2023 – The Langley Rivermen are thrilled to announce the signing of 2005-born goaltender Liam Hallett from St. George’s School U18 Prep Program. With an impressive season behind him, Hallett joins the Rivermen ready to bring his significant skill and promise to the team’s defensive lineup.
“Liam’s tremendous performance in his first season at St. George’s, along with high recommendations from his coaches, caught our attention,” said Head Coach Burt Henderson. “With his impressive size and increasing strength, we’re confident he has the potential to become an exceptional goaltender in the BCHL and beyond.”
Hailing from Victoria, Hallett boasts a track record of 7-4 with a goals-against average of 2.62 and a .929 save percentage in his rookie season with St. George’s. His 6’7″, 200-pound stature, combined with his catching ability, promises to add significant strength to the Rivermen’s defensive core.
Associate Head Coach Tyler Kuntz adds, “Liam’s stats speak for themselves. He played for Saints U18 last season so I’m very familiar with him and his family. He has great work ethic, character and compete. His skillset, combined with his size gives him with huge upside. We foresee him becoming a formidable goaltender in this league sooner than later. We’re eager to see him develop within our program.”
Curt Fraser, Director of Hockey Operations, further emphasized, “Securing Hallett for our team demonstrates our commitment to nurturing promising talent. His addition undoubtedly strengthens our defensive lineup.”
